Annie Excels at PowerPoint

Annie being presented her certificate by JB Tinker, Managing Director of XCERIO Digital Skills Institute.

The 2017 Australian National Microsoft Office Specialist Championship held its Queensland finals in Brisbane recently. Stanthorpe State High School Year 10 student Annie Zhong competed in the PowerPoint finals after receiving a very high score in a record time during her school exam. Annie travelled to Brisbane with Microsoft IT Specialist and Region System Technician Angie Ezzy where she pitted her PowerPoint skills against 9 other exceptional students from around Queensland. The competition was intense and, even though Annie did not place in the top 3 and move onto the Australian Championships, she did herself and her school proud.

The Microsoft Office Specialist programme offers students the opportunity to earn a globally recognised Microsoft Office Certification which validates their skills and contributes credits towards their Queensland Certificate of Education. The certificates also add to their job readiness where potential employers can see that they actually are Microsoft Office Specialists and not just rely on their word.

Students in Years 10, 11 & 12 have the opportunity to work through this program individually or as part of the Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology and Certificate II in Business courses offered at Stanthorpe State High School.
