Art Exhibition at Pottery Club

Once again the Year 9 and 10 Visual Art students at Stanthorpe State High School have been fortunate to exhibit their works with help of the Stanthorpe Pottery Club.

The students exhibited artworks in the fields of ceramics and painting that were created by them in semester one of this year. The Year 9 artworks explored aspects of personal identity and connection to place through their glazed ceramic totem poles and acrylic landscape paintings. The Year 10’s ceramic teapots responded to investigations of functions and form. Whilst their portraiture endeavoured to create a triptych of the same identity in the three different art styles of expressionism, cubism and pop art. Exhibiting their work at the Pottery Den has been an exciting prospect for the students and they are thrilled, once again, at the opportunity to participate in Stanthorpe’s vibrant arts community.
