Award for Stanthorpe High’s International Hosting Program

Rob Moore accepts the DE International award from sponsor Mary Pozzobon, the Allianz Global Assistance National Sales Manager.

Stanthorpe State High School’s International hosting programs were recently recognised at the Queensland Department of Education International Conference. In the category, Innovation by a school in enhancing the student experience, Stanthorpe won a Highly Commended award and $7000.

Sustainability in a shared cultural experience drives the design and execution of the programs, which rely on a range of partnerships both across faculties in the school and with the wider business and indigenous community in the Granite Belt. Students from Shiwa and Ueno in Japan as well as Cividale del Friuli in Italy have been coming to Stanthorpe High for well over 10 years.

The prize money will help to support the school’s ongoing international programs and was a welcome recognition of the collaborative effort of all involved.
