Big term of sporting achievement

Success in Swimming at the Border District Swimming Carnival

At the Darling Downs Winter Trials Alun Lewis was selected to represent the Darling Downs at the 19yrs Football State Titles later on in the year.

Rubgy League

The Darling Downs Rugby League Gala Day saw Hamish Cole, Stuart Filmer, Josh Wren, Harry Williams, Ky Rashleigh and Brock Patti compete in Toowoomba. Ky and Harry made it to the next level of trials where Ky was successful in making the Darling Down 15yrs Rugby League team. He will go on to compete at the State Titles later on this year.


Kirby Morunga has been selected in the Presidents XI for the 19yrs Cricket State Titles.


Aliesha Rogers (Year 7), Brooke O'Brien (Year 9), Hannah McMeniman (Year 9) and Ben Armbruster (Year 11) were all Age Champions at the Border District Swimming Carnival and have since competed at the Darling Downs trials in Gatton. All four swimmers were successful in gaining a place in the Darling Downs team and have recently competed at the State Titles.

Border District Winter Trials

A huge number of students represented Stanthorpe State High School at the Winter Trials for a range of sports. The following students made Border District Teams.

Alex Cameron, Ben Fama’aea, Landon Gempton, Dylan Lihou, Daniel McMeniman, Hannah McMeniman, Brooke O’Brien, Brock Patti, Ky Rashleigh, Harry Williams, Allegra Daveson, Lauren Coelli, Martin Dachs, Hannah Evans, Brooklyn Favero, Georgia Favero, Ella Harrold, Zane Hume, Alun Lewis, Matthew MacDonald, Maddie Maguire, Harriet Morgan, Thomas Newman, Ellice Orreal, Dylan Politch, Joshua Rogers.

The Darling Downs trials for many of these sports will occur in Term 2.
