International Visitors

Italian visitors

A group of exchange students and two teachers from Stanthorpe State High School’s sister school in Cividale del Friuli, Italy, visited the school and spent 10 days with the families of some of our Immersion students. This visit has been an exciting opportunity for some lucky students to reciprocate the hospitality that was offered to them during last year’s immersion trip to Italy. It has also been a chance for other Stanthorpe State High School students to make new international friends and practise their language skills. During their stay in Stanthorpe, the Italian students, accompanied by their hosts, attended some lessons and participated in extracurricular activities but also visited our beautiful region and were even treated to a day trip to Byron Bay. Our guests bonded very well with the Stanthorpe students, long lasting friendships were formed and copious tears were shed during the farewell dinner. This exchange benefitted both Italian and Australian students immensely and contributed to strengthening the relationship between the two schools and communities.
