Welcome to our new students

Immersion Students Anna, Sophie and Peta.

The Year 7 and 8 students have arrived on mass to Stanthorpe State High School. HOD of Junior Secondary Mrs Jo Marcus stated,  “The year 7 and 8 students have made a very confident start to Junior Secondary at Stanthorpe State High School.  They have done very well to find all of their classrooms, learn new teacher’s names, how to use their school planners and make new friends.  The teachers look forward to meeting with the parents of our Junior Secondary students (Yrs. 7 – 9) at our informal parent-teacher catch up evening on Wednesday 4th March”.

She had a quick conversation with the following 3 year 8 immersion girls (pictured in order) to see how they were enjoying their first week.  Here is what they said.

Anna Henderson, “I’ve enjoyed getting to know people and making new friends.  Moving around to different classes and having a number of different teachers is good.”

Sophie Gasparin, “I’m looking forward to doing the Italian Immersion class.  It is also different how we do not need to wait for the teachers to tell us it’s time to stop eating and that we can go and play.”

Peta Comino, “I’m looking forward to meeting all of the new teachers”.
