Year 11 students brave the outdoors

5/09/2013
Abseiling was one of the activities on the camp.

In the week of August 22nd to 26th a large group of Year 11 students and some teachers from Stanthorpe State High School attended an adventure camp at Pindari Dam, north of Inverell NSW.

The students engaged in many activities that taught them a lot about themselves, others and leadership. The activities involved promoting positive decision making and communication skills while testing resilience and resourcefulness. The camp allowed students to mix with each other and to extend friendships out side of their usual peer group.

The students loved the camp - although they had to get used to some variations in their usual menu (they were issued with ration packs), sleeping arrangements (in swags outdoors), toileting (ling drops!) and showering (boiling own water and bush showers).

Overall a great time was had by all.
