Year 8 Camp

31/05/2018
Year 8 Camp Friendships

Last week 72 students and 8 staff happily exhausted themselves on the beach at Evans Head for the annual Year 8 camp, held at Camp Koinonia.  The weather was fantastic and students did everything from surfing and vertical challenges (climbing wall) to night time crab hunting and a dubbing ceremony. Students were exceptionally well behaved and the camp managers said these students were one of the best groups to stay at the camp in recent years.

Just like the squires of Medieval Europe, students were in training to become a knight.  If they could prove that they could live by the “Honour Code” of teamwork, kindness, maturity and grit, they would graduate to a knight in the final day’s dubbing ceremony. All students demonstrated that they could work together to help their group succeed and they pushed themselves to attempt some very challenging activities.

Teaching staff who attended praised the students for their respectful and enthusiastic behaviour.
