Guidance Officers work collaboratively with members of staff, families and community agencies to assist in meeting the educational, social and emotional needs of students.
Guidance Officers provide counselling, psycho educational assessment, career development and individual student support within the school setting.
Students can be referred by parents, carers and teachers via the Student Support Team email - StudentSupport@stanthorpeshs.eq.edu.au.
Students can seek support for themselves by filling out a Guidance Officer slip at the office (student window) or by coming up to the office at the Guidance Officer drop-in times - Wednesdays and Thursdays second break.
Parents/carers can also make appointments to see the Guidance Officer via the front office.
For more information on the services available through the Guidance Officer, please refer to SSHS FaceBook posts posted in April 2024 (Term 2) or make an appointment to see Sonia Ensoll (Guidance Officer) through the front office. You can also send a direct email to the Guidance Officer's work email - smain0@eq.edu.au.
